Pastor Henry L. Knight &
First Lady Carrie M. Knight

Pastor Henry L. Knight was a sincere man of God who preached with a Spiritual fervor that reached down to the inner sanctum of one’s soul. He was also a committed prayer warrior that interceded regularly for those who were lost and in need. A well-established leader; Pastor Knight served on the Ordination Board of the First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southern California under the leadership of Bishop Joe Ealy .  Pastor Knight became an Ordained Elder in 1969 and served at West Angeles Church Of God In Christ for twenty years under Bishop Charles E. Blake, and was diligent in whatever task assigned to him. He served in the following capacities during his tenure there:

  • Associate Minister
  • Youth Leader
  • Young Adult Sunday School Teacher
  • YPWW President
  • Teacher, West Angeles Christian Academy
  • Teacher of the New Members Class & New Member Counselor
  • Helped establish and taught at the West Angeles Bible College
  • Organized Southern California Jurisdiction Bible College System of the Inland Empire

Pastor Knight earned his B.A. in Theology from Life Bible College in Los Angeles, CA and a Masters in Religion from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA. He retired as Supervisor of the Medical Alert Center in Los Angeles, he was a member of Who’s Who International, the United States Chaplain Association, and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Museum of Art, Crenshaw High Campus.  Pastor Knight taught the unadulterated Word of God through messages of Faith, Hope, and Love with the compassion and sincerity expected of seasoned man of God. Pastor Henry Knight was an accomplished author with three current titles available…

Pastor Knight has also written other books such as The Unique Bible Study, The Messianic Prophecy and Fulfillment, and The Solution. The Unique Bible Study has been used as curriculum in YPWW at West Angeles Church Of God In Christ. Pastor Knight was married to his lovely wife Carrie for more than 50 years. Together, they raised two daughters; Darlene and Karen.

First Lady Carrie spearheaded the mission ministry. She reached out to those who had unfortunate circumstances in their lives. She provided food, clothing and legal services to those who needed it and referrals to those that needed shelter. Consequently, was the birth of Carrie’s non-profit organization, Community Services, Inc. Community Services, Inc. and GTLT COGIC collaborated on projects locally and abroad, such as, working with: People Helping People; the Los Angeles Rescue Mission; Feed The Children; West Angeles COGIC Mission Department (sending toys to children in Africa); partnering with World Vision to assist children and youth who needed school supplies; TBN’s Smile of a Child by providing toys to children during Christmas; sending food to hungry families in Haiti; sending clothing and food to the Republic of Kosovo; providing care packages and clothing to the victims of Hurricane Katrina and Rita; and recently providing two truckloads of clothing, furniture, and food to the Salvation Army. First Lady Carrie was a volunteer at the public and private schools for 10 years. She received an Outstanding Services Volunteer/Donor award from the Inglewood Unified School District. Carrie volunteered at the following schools: Communion Christian Academy; LaTierja Elementary School; Cecil Murray Christian School; and Wilder Preparatory Academy. Carrie served her family, her church, her community, and the world. She demonstrated a life of servant leadership. She was a great example of what Jesus stated during his ministry, But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant (Matthew 23:11). Her legacy will live on in every life that she touched.
